One: I'm a school nurse now. I'll have a full week off of work before Christmas gets here and a week after it's over. That helps a lot because this is such a busy time of the year.
Secondly: My extended family has decided this year to only give gifts to the kids. That helps a lot with expenses. I used to have to buy 22 gifts every year. This year, 4. That is a huge help not only financially, but I don't have the stress of trying to figure out what to buy everyone.
I hope you find a way to de-stress.

(hee, hee, I just have to note that my word verification is "winer". I'm trying not to take it personally.)Penny Ratzlaffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03368479901015692591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9175362385039466640.post-27274026039674723342008-12-02T09:12:00.000-05:002008-12-02T09:12:00.000-05:00I hear you about the stress. Good idea with the full massage - I'd love to get one a month.

My release is to read a little each night. It takes my mind of everything when I get absorbed in a book - even it it's just one chapter.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9175362385039466640.post-86933648235019134422008-12-02T09:09:00.000-05:002008-12-02T09:09:00.000-05:00Kathy - A no gifts policy - if only! Keep trying, I'm sure you'll find a way to stay calm and enjoy.meanderingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03217152983030885746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9175362385039466640.post-50539970706092660472008-12-01T20:41:00.000-05:002008-12-01T20:41:00.000-05:00I actually got my family to agree to the 'no gifts...I actually got my family to agree to the 'no gifts Christmas' this year in honor of the recession (ha!). We're supposed to get things only for the lone kid among us. Let's see if everyone sticks with the plan...

Other than that I am participating in my annual Santa letter program, and trying to focus on the positives. It's tough (along w/the season's festivities I have to move, fly waaay out of town for Xmas to visit family, complete some major work projects, yadda yadda yadda...!), but I'm gonna try.

Maybe I'll get myself a massage as a b-day gift in January. Thanks for the idea!Araby62 (a.k.a. Kathy)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02629706069673992324noreply@blogger.com
