Because of the fat the carb intake actually takes longer, so you will be stuck in your low longer too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9175362385039466640.post-57098536268689717902010-04-26T15:46:38.258-04:002010-04-26T15:46:38.258-04:00Dang man, that is SO frustrating! If I've been running higher overall, than the lows are much more jarring, and I experience discomfort at higher readings. When I've been keeping myself in a better range, then the lows don't hit so hard (also usually because the tighter my control, the less rapidly my sugar changes overall). It feels very different to plunge from 160 to 60 in a matter of minutes than it does to go from 80 to 60 over a couple of hours. I have to agree with Shannon too about high-fat foods being slow to raise my BG (and taking a long time to feel the effects).Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09366934862607331781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9175362385039466640.post-24835321964638900152010-04-26T15:29:36.607-04:002010-04-26T15:29:36.607-04:00Oh I hear you. Ice cream takes forever to raise my BG.

When I'm low, I always go for the juice box. Even if I have a bowl of M&Ms in front of me, I still go for the juice. In my usual low-induced haze, I think it's the only thing that works.Shannonhttp://ladadeeda.comnoreply@blogger.com
