Today Diabetes Takes A Holiday - Because It's All About ONCE And The Tony's/Tony Danza Awards

I know I should be blogging about Diabetes today - After all this is a diabetes blog and I have type 1 diabetes, and I'm a Diabetes Advocate - SO I'm all about the diabetes.
Like it or not, my life is like a Diabetes Channel, 24 X7. ALL DIABETES - ALMOST ALL OF THE TIME - And I know that I'm not the only one who feels this way!
But today I can't focus on broken pancreati and the things that go with living with a faulty pancreas.
Today, diabetes (and diabetes annoyances) can SUCK IT - And so can the Diabetes Police for that matter.
Because today my brain and heart are literally exploding with so much love and joy and pride that diabetes takes a backseat.
WHY you ask??? Well today my amazing niece Cristin Milioti was nominated for a 2012 Tony Nomination for Best Actress in A Musical.
Today I'm crying happy tears of joy for her and am just blown away by the continued fantasticalness that is the Broadway Musical, ONCE.
And I keep thinking about my mom - Who had been waiting for this particular Cristin moment for a very long time - She was one Cristin's biggest fans and went to see everyone of her shows - And she had been so looking forward to seeing ONCE. Part of me is so sad that my mom isn't here to experience all of the wonderfulness that his happening.
But here's the thing, I know for a fact that my mom is looking down from the stars on her little star and is jumping for joy!
She's been there for every moment and will continue to be there for all of the wonderful moments in the future.
May 1st, 2012 is all about being proud of someone I love very much.
And today, Diabetesaliciousness is a diabetes free zone, because it's all about The Tony Danza Awards, and one nominee in particular.
LOVE YOU CHICKLET - Keep shining!

  1. Congratulations! Thinking about your mom is her way of letting you know that she is with you and she is also very proud. :-)
