SAE WHAT?

With November being Diabetes Awareness Month - there's a ton of stuff going on and I'm not sure how I'm going to keep up with it all - but I'm going to try!

Today, November 1st, is also SAE Day - which stands for Support, Advocate, & Educate Diabetes Awareness Day!

I plan on continuing to SUPPORT diabetes causes, platforms, and organizations and I'm going to encourage others to do the same.
I will ADVOCATE by not only continuing to write my blog, but write about numerous diabetes projects and campaigns and actively participate in an many of those campaigns as I can. I've also signed up to participate in both the American Diabetes Associations "Blog 30 Days of Diabetes In November & Beyond" and NaBlopoMo (National Blog Posting Month), which means I will be writing 30 diabetes blog posts, 30 days in a row - And YES, there's there's a very good chance I'm going to go a bit loopy in the process.
The EDUCATE part will be in the form busting diabetes myths and spreading diabetes truths. I will reach out to my local papers to spread the word. I've also contacted several teachers in my school district and inquired if they would be interested in having a Q & A among the staff & students about living with diabetes. So many children are being diagnosed with type 1 & 2, I think it's important to reach out to educators and the students and give them the patient perspective of living a diabetes life.
I''m going to continue to become an educated and empowered ePatient & encourage others to do so.
AND I'm also going to take the principles of SAE Day and incorporate them into my daily routine for the entire month of November - and beyond.
Tomorrow's Post: Learn about one simple click of the mouse that can help you literally & figuratively be part of the diabetes cure!

I love myself 30 days of Kelly! I'll be blogging everyday along with you. :)

I would LOVE to have you speak at my boys school! I know if anyone could connect with the children, it would be your wonderful self! If only you were closer...
