Diabetes Demands......

Diabetes doesn't care if you're getting married or taking exams, or if you have give your mother's eulogy at her funeral. Diabetes demands to be put first. 

Diabetes doesn't care that you want to take a vacation or am foaming at the mouth because you want to eat a forbidden bowl of pasta. 

And diabetes doesn't give a shit that you are tired of having to constantly think and check blood sugars and continually wonder if your infusion set is working - Diabetes demands to be put first.

Diabetes doesn't care that your basement is flooded or that you have no idea when your pharmacy will dry out, let alone reopen before it's time for your prescriptions to be refilled. 
Diabetes doesn't care that your home town is wrecked from a Hurricane named Sandy and that you see people walking around with luggage and blankets because they've lost everything they own or unable to physically get back into their home. 
Quite frankly diabetes could give two shits because diabetes demands to be put first. 

Diabetes is a demanding, diabetes is never ending and diabetes is ALWAYS with us - whether we like it or not. 

Diabetes is a demanding bitch...... AND. SO. AM. I.

I / WE are strong and resilient - and no matter what I will pull myself up from my muddy bootstraps and  take the lead in my life - And neither Sandy or diabetes will not stop me - Or you.
